WHAT IS GRAPHIC DESIGN?

WHAT IS GRAPHIC DESIGN?
Graphic Design is the art of communicating in a way that makes people's’ lives  better. You have to start with a concept. You can’t gather an idea without the concept. Then, put it into action. That is what Graphic Design really is. It’s ACTION. Have you ever noticed that when you got to the grocery store, your eyes are drawn to color? What about shapes? Simplicity? Confusion? Puns? All of those products on the shelves had a team of graphic designers behind it. Every label was started with a basic concept, then an idea. Then a new idea. Then a new idea built on top of the first idea. every. single. time. Designers have to start with that basic concept to get anywhere. Graphic design has to evoke a story, has to make you wonder Why? Graphic designers have to have a basic understanding of human psychology to evoke these thought processes. And finally, my favorite GD quote of all time, taken from this vid:
“Do what you think is right, then worry about what the survey says.”

End Of Year Senior Reflection

e-Communication has greatly impacted my life, even though I don’t plan on entering the AV Communication field. I am going to school to study music education, and I plan to take the leadership skill I gained in this program and applying it to my own classroom. I feel that I am more technically advanced than a lot of other kids my age. For example, I made my grad party invites myself, after coaching my mom through the photography process and photoshopping my own pictures. I have learned to collaborate with people I don’t particularly like, and I feel this skill will help me in my future workplace. As a teacher, I will need to be able to communicate with my students and my coworkers, and my job as AD greatly prepared me for that. Managing a set taught me management skills by allowing me to know when to adjust deadlines and when to stick to them. Leadership went from being a quality I never had to one of my greatest values, and I’m so grateful to e-Comm for teaching me all of this. Le...

My Chair

Hey Guys!!! Long time no see hahaha ok I’m done. In SketchUp today, I made a chair! Ya. Not too impressive, but I love it. I used a variety of tools to edit the legs of the chair, such as the Ruler, Rectangle tool, and the Follow Me tool. It was kinda hard! I put differents masks on the pieces, and I struggled getting the pattern to line up, so I improvised with dark gray. Also, I put a little design on the side of the chair. I love it!
