MDettwiler 6ShotSequence

Hey guys! It’s Makena.
I made another video in my eComm class, and here it is! In the process of making this video, I learned about the 6 Shot Sequence. The 6 Shot Sequence is a strategy when filming video. It starts with an Extra Close Up, which is a close up that is even closer than a regular Close Up. In my video, this is the feet. A Close up is a shot of just one feature, such as someone’s head, or their hands. It then progresses to an Over The Shoulder Shot, which is an angle that has the back of the head and shoulders in it, along with whatever the person is doing. This is when she is dribbling the ball, and you can clearly see her head and shoulders along with the dribbling. The nest shot is a Medium Shot. This is a shot that shows the person from the hips up. Next, you have the Wide Shot. A Wide Shot is the entire person, along with whatever they are doing. And finally, you have the Extra Wide Shot. This is a shot that includes the person and the ENTIRE surrounding scene.
In this project, I learned the basic understanding of filming, such as how to use the camera and the importance of leaving it on the tripod. I Also learned a few other things, such as The 6 Shot Sequence. I leaned a few principles as well, such as two Close Ups in a row are fine, but two Wide Shots in a row are a no-no.

In my next project I hope I can take what I’ve learned and use it. That way I get a really awesome video!!

POPtART

We’ve all seen this before. If you haven’t, you’ve been living under a graphic design rock. One of Andy Warhol’s most famous works, his portrait of Marilyn Monroe, is recognizable to anyone, just because of how famous the artist was. Using a publicity shot of Marilyn, Warhol created a few works through a silk screening process. He made the original, Marilyn , and then Marilyn Diptych , symbolizing the iconic woman’s death. In my own little way, I tried to create my own Andy-Warhol-based portraits of Hayley Willams, Gwen Stefani, Cara Delevingne, and Lady Gaga.  Following a basic color scheme, I created Pop Art Portraits

What is Graphic Design?!?

What is Graphic Design?!? Graphic Design: Google(the best website in the whole world) puts it simply as the art or skill of combining text and pictures in advertisements, magazines, or books. Most GD conveys an image, a message, a language. However GOOD GD makes peoples lives better!! It’s a language for the living. It can be quirky! Or ugly! Or beautiful! Whatever it needs to be. And most of all, Graphic Design is simply dong what is right, not what the survey s ays.  Only Graphic Design is like Graphic Design.
