Michaela

This video is about a female weightlifter. This video gave a wide variety of all the different shots: XCU, CU, OTS, MS, WS, and XWS. The producers also did a very good job of creating a storyline in an interview. They used a nice blend of nat noise, voiceovers, and dialogue.  The video told a story of how a girl, yes, even a girl, can be a power lifter. I really like how they tied a "girl" stereotype to something that breaks that stereotype.  I really like the way that they blended story with facts and dialogue . They did a very good job of following the 180 degree rule, keeping the video easy to follow. The creators did a very good job of getting multiple people to interview. It provides a lot more insight. But maybe they could have gotten some opinions from people at school, for instance.

Pencil

In this project, I really struggled with getting Illustrator to behave the way I wanted it to. So I asked for help. Sometimes I struggle when it comes to asking for help, so this really opened my eyes. I also learned how to play with negative space. In other words, I learned how to outline with my background color. I also learned how the live paint bucket tool and the gradient tool work. This is my first pencil that i created using a tutorial.    This is my original pencil, next to a can for the pencil to go in.    This is the other pencil I made. Remember how I was talking about negative space? This is it. I used a white outline and a white background to make them seem as one.  This is my creative piece. Using the shape tools, I created a beach scene. I tried to create a sense of depth and shadow using the gradient.
In our first sophomore AV project, we created a video depicting a procedure in school. My partner, Jasmeet, and I decided that trash and recycling could be easily confused. So we decided to bring it to life using the Magic of Video.
