Don’t H8 Don8

Don’t H8 Don8
In spring of 2014, a blood drive was held at Olathe Northwest. Pedro von Simson did a story on how the drive impacted the school. He did a fantastic job of getting a wide variety of shots and followed basic interview rules such as the 180 degree rule and the rule of thirds. His shots were fairly steady, and he had a nice story. He could have focused his shots better, but overall it was fantastic. I love the way he used his B-Roll when his interview was playing. I will definitely incorporate that into my story. He must have really stuck his neck out and had confidence when filming this, because he got some really cool shots and interviewed many people. He got this really cool XWS. He must have gotten it by getting up on the catwalks above the Flex Theatre. That takes real guts, and can't really be taught in the classroom. He did a fantastic job of composing his interviews. He followed the Rule of Thirds beautifully. I honestly have no idea how he could have improved. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Beautiful video!

POPtART

We’ve all seen this before. If you haven’t, you’ve been living under a graphic design rock. One of Andy Warhol’s most famous works, his portrait of Marilyn Monroe, is recognizable to anyone, just because of how famous the artist was. Using a publicity shot of Marilyn, Warhol created a few works through a silk screening process. He made the original, Marilyn , and then Marilyn Diptych , symbolizing the iconic woman’s death. In my own little way, I tried to create my own Andy-Warhol-based portraits of Hayley Willams, Gwen Stefani, Cara Delevingne, and Lady Gaga.  Following a basic color scheme, I created Pop Art Portraits

What is Graphic Design?!?

What is Graphic Design?!? Graphic Design: Google(the best website in the whole world) puts it simply as the art or skill of combining text and pictures in advertisements, magazines, or books. Most GD conveys an image, a message, a language. However GOOD GD makes peoples lives better!! It’s a language for the living. It can be quirky! Or ugly! Or beautiful! Whatever it needs to be. And most of all, Graphic Design is simply dong what is right, not what the survey s ays.  Only Graphic Design is like Graphic Design.
