Friday the 13th's Blood Drive

Last Friday, my video class went to our school’s Annual Fall Blood Drive. We captured footage of the event, learning how to hold a camera steady without relying on the use of a tripod. In the process of creating the story, we had to first how to learn how to properly hold a camera, a microphone, and a list of questions all at the same time. We then went inside the Drive and filmed the event. I interviewed a couple of people, but my audio was, sadly, pretty awful. So I borrowed some footage from a couple people in my class. Along the way, I learned how to properly hold a camera and how to film a live event. Because a live event in live, you can’t really plan out what you are going to film before you get in there. So I had to think on the fly and plan my video on the fly. If I could do things any differently, I would choose to preview the area before I went in to film. I would have better learned what I could and could not film. I would keep my same tactics though. I got up in people’s faces and asked them questions. I had to talk to random strangers, and that’s something that I am fairly good at that. I really enjoyed this project, and all of video!

POPtART

We’ve all seen this before. If you haven’t, you’ve been living under a graphic design rock. One of Andy Warhol’s most famous works, his portrait of Marilyn Monroe, is recognizable to anyone, just because of how famous the artist was. Using a publicity shot of Marilyn, Warhol created a few works through a silk screening process. He made the original, Marilyn , and then Marilyn Diptych , symbolizing the iconic woman’s death. In my own little way, I tried to create my own Andy-Warhol-based portraits of Hayley Willams, Gwen Stefani, Cara Delevingne, and Lady Gaga.  Following a basic color scheme, I created Pop Art Portraits

What is Graphic Design?!?

What is Graphic Design?!? Graphic Design: Google(the best website in the whole world) puts it simply as the art or skill of combining text and pictures in advertisements, magazines, or books. Most GD conveys an image, a message, a language. However GOOD GD makes peoples lives better!! It’s a language for the living. It can be quirky! Or ugly! Or beautiful! Whatever it needs to be. And most of all, Graphic Design is simply dong what is right, not what the survey s ays.  Only Graphic Design is like Graphic Design.
